Just back from an excellent weekend at the Birmabright Weekend in the Czech Republic.
It was a great event - although a long way to travel, but well worth the effort of getting there, and great to meet so many other nationalities.
This was the event

The journey there - we took the blue and yellow S3 along for a Danish chap who lives in the Czech Republic, and who had just bought it from Ebay - the seller stated that it had never done more than 15 mile journeys in the last 5 years or so, so it must have been a shock to it when it did a straight 650 miles from the Hook of Holland to Kutna Hora - although it never missed a beat!

Getting closer

The campsite

Off laning.....

4x4 Skoda anyone?

A warning on the gates to the camp site!

Oh, and it rained a bit.....

If anyone saw the 'Long Way Round' with Euan McGregor and Charlie Boreman (the first of their motorcycle trips) you may remember them visiting the 'church of bones - well that is in Kutna Hora too....

...which is a fantastic little town, with plenty of things to see

After a trip to the Bannegon event in France, and driving down the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans, it has become an OLLR thing to try your hand on race circuits, so an opportunity to go around the Nurburgring in Germany on the way home was not to be missed. This series one is fitted with a 200 Tdi - but with the turbo removed - and not really a match for some of the more exotic sports cars going around the circuit, but all the same, it still got a cheer from the crowd!

All in all, a fantastic weekend, so a big thanks to the organiser Jan! |
